Announcement: ECHSA Membership Fee Increase

Dear ECHSA Members and friends,

As you already know, thanks to the leading efforts of our immediate Past President Jose Fragata, ECHSA has adopted the World Journal for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery as our Official Journal, as has the Congenital Heart Surgeons Society (CHSS), our sister Organization in the USA, and, of course, the World Society for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery (WSPCHS).

Accordingly, our logo features on the cover page of the World Journal, alongside that of the CHSS and the WSPCHS, underlining the status of our Association among the most respected scientific societies in this field internationally!  Our Annual meetings’ abstracts, beginning with those of the Cascais Meeting last June, will be published in the World Journal, where our multi-institutional studies and Database Research will also be submitted for publication.

In addition, ECHSA Members in good standing will have the benefit of free on-line access to the Journal.

I also inform you that the ECHSA Board, in order to partially offset the costs involved regarding the World Journal, has decided unanimously to increase the Annual Membership fee for full Members to 250 euros, while the Junior membership fee remains unchanged.  As per ECHSA Policy, Honorary and Senior Members remain exempt from annual dues. The increased fees are reflected in the invoices for the 2019 Annual Dues.

All of us at the Board hope that you will agree that this modest increase in annual fee is both fair and necessary, given that the Association is now providing an important additional service to its Members, and that we are all collectively responsible to ensure adequacy of funds to support ECHSA’s goals.
